We are looking for a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to support our Principal Designer in all phases of design, procurement, and installation. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, high-end residential design firm where no two weeks look the same.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a strong interest in interior design, a flexible schedule, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and brings a positive, can-do attitude to everything they do.

key responsibilities:

Interior Design Assistant

Part-Time | Independent Contractor | Colorado

  • Attend job sites to take field measurements and site photos as needed
  • Pick up, deliver, and return product and material samples
  • Maintain and organize the design sample library
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and trades to schedule appointments and gather information
  • Assist during project installations: directing installers, coordinating professionals (e.g., art, window treatments), unboxing and styling accessories, and supporting the designer on-site
  • Assist during project photo shoots
  • Contribute to the development of presentation materials, documentation, and social media content
  • Create and edit behind-the-scenes content for platforms like Instagram (reels, carousels, stories, etc.)
  • Track vendor communication regarding orders, claims, and deliveries; provide updates to the Principal Designer
  • Deliver excellent customer service to clients and maintain professional relationships

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Passionate about design with a strong visual eye—professional design experience not required
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and timelines
  • Comfortable on job sites and engaging with a wide range of people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Technical Skills & Requirements:

  • Must have your own laptop or desktop computer
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, etc.) required
  • Canva proficiency preferred
  • Experience with design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, or Revit is a strong plus and may lead to expanded responsibilities
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and be able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must reside in Colorado and be legally authorized to work in the United States

CURRENT SCOPE:

  • Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week to start, with potential for growth over time
  • Status: 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Location: Primarily in-person work in the Denver/Boulder area with some flexibility for remote tasks
  • Compensation: $20 per hour
